Sick of it!

You can check out my website at www.RDLarson.com or you can read my stories FOR FREE after you sign up at www.bookrix.com or you can BUY my book, EVIL ANGEL at Fictionwise.com and at www.Mobipocket.com and at Amazon.com

I am sick of writing political blogs! Not writing any more.

I am not sick of dogs! I want another one! I miss Zippy! But I am not writing doggie splash any more!

I love to write so instead of links to what I've have up I am going to write about writing. Of course I might still let you know when something gets published or epublished. Everyone has a Kindle these days and I think I have at least five books at fictionwise that you can get on your Kindle.

But mostly I am going to write about being a writer and the pain it entails. Not one person admits it -- it is killing to be a writer and I am going to tell the whole truth about it. I love to write; I do. And I will never stop. But I guess I will confess some of the awful truths as I see them. I am going to rant and rave. So don't bother to read it. Oh maybe once in a while you will get some golden words but omg don't hold your breath.

Writing is hard. That is the first commandment of writing. It is damn hard and it is never easy. So before you write and tell me you want to be a writer, think about the hell it will put you through.

Remember the Shining? Remember Nicholson? He wasn't CRAZY -- He was a writer!

  1. One great writer surely agrees with you. These are my two favorite quotes from Ernest Hemmingway:

“Writing is something that you can never do as well as it can be done. It is a perpetual challenge and it is more difficult than anything else that I have ever done.”

"I read my own books sometimes to cheer me when it is hard to write, and then I remember that it was always difficult, and how nearly impossible it was sometimes."

But some of us are driven, thank goodness, and will always write.

You go on, RD Larson. You've got readers behind you.

  2. RD!!!
Those are such true words!!!! Being a writer is hard and writing itself, though it may sometimes be a breeze is always hard at some point. I love the beginning when you write like it's a faucet and it will never stop. But eventually you get to that point where it starts to trickle and finally stops. I know what to do with the writing then so that isn't too bad. It's after you finish the story and you've gotten the comments and then have to revise. I hate that part and try to keep myself as objective as possible. What is the part that you think is the hardest?

By the way, I also feel the same way about politics. I'm saddened by what has occurred and wish that someone could just knock some sense into the Democrats.:) We won and we should be able to get anything we want.:) We have all the power. Oh, maybe that's for a blog post.LOL

  3. Is there a difference? Between being crazy and being a writer?
